Podcasters Beware: Your Popularity Could Be Your Downfall

The popularity of a particular podcast is its success and demon all rolled up into one.

This one came from Eric Rice of Audioblog.com, who appeared on a recent podcasting panel for public relations professional in San Francisco last week.

"That's the risk of anything that has a sudden surge in popularity. Even websites. You'll find somebody that ends up in the news for any kind of reason and they have like a Geocities homepage and by the time you get the article its down.

There are countless services emerging to handle hosting and bandwidth and new technologies that are emerging to help distribute it. People will archive old shows to balance the bandwidth."

Some of the options he mentioned that exist that protection podcasters against exhorbinant web hosting fees are Libsyn, OurMedia, Audioblog.com. Sphere: Related Content
